The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in Jordan has announced the launch of a national blockchain technology network in collaboration with the local blockchain company Blockexe. This initiative aligns with the Jordanian Digital Transformation Strategy (2021-2025), focusing on the government’s adoption of blockchain technology.
Boosting Trust in Government Services
On July 17, the Jordanian Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship unveiled its partnership with Blockexe to introduce a national blockchain network known as Modee Dlt. This network is designed to enhance trust and transparency within government services.
The blockchain network is now integrated with the Jordanian government portal, enabling decentralized and verifiable digital records for all Sanad transactions. This integration is part of Jordan’s Digital Transformation Strategy (2021-2025), which aims to bolster the nation’s digital infrastructure.
Jordan’s forward-thinking strategy highlights innovation and partnerships between the private and public sectors as vital components for success. Investments in essential IT infrastructure, such as broadband expansion and 5G deployment, are also considered crucial. These efforts, along with five other key enablers, are intended to improve the quality of life for Jordanian citizens. Additionally, the Ministry emphasized that applying the blockchain network across various government sectors will establish a reliable digital environment, supporting Jordan’s broader objectives of creating a strong and trustworthy digital economy.
This initiative not only seeks to enhance trust in government services but also aims to streamline the integration of e-government services, making them more transparent, efficient, and competitive both locally and internationally.
