In a groundbreaking move for education in Latin America, the ETH Kipu Foundation has partnered with the Ministry of Education of Buenos Aires to integrate Ethereum and blockchain technology into high school curricula. This partnership marks a significant advancement in the region’s educational approach to emerging technologies, specifically focusing on blockchain systems capable of supporting smart contracts.

A recent press release from the ETH Kipu Foundation emphasized the significance of this initiative, describing it as a “critical step in equipping the next generation with skills necessary for the tech-driven economy.” As part of this collaboration, Buenos Aires high school students will have the opportunity to participate in professional internships within blockchain projects starting August 27.
Additionally, the partnership includes the creation of an online course dedicated to teaching Solidity, the programming language used for developing Ethereum applications. This course will be available to 500 students aged 18 and older, enabling them to gain the skills necessary to join the Ethereum developer community and create applications that can be integrated into local business operations. To further support this educational initiative, 30 teachers will undergo specialized hybrid training focused on Ethereum.

Paula D., co-founder of the ETH Kipu Foundation, expressed optimism about the program’s potential, highlighting the new career opportunities it could unlock for young Argentines. She stated, “This initiative will create new career paths for young people and position Argentina as a leader in the global blockchain movement.”
